Congratulations Tony! I know we are fortunate to have someone like you at the helm. I’m excited for the changes you’ll be exploring on the horizon! I’ve been a writer on Medium since 2016, and I’m still convinced it is one of the best opportunities for writers to share their work. I have a few thoughts to offer:

1. I’d love to see an opportunity to republish older articles (without penalty or old publication dates) that are lost in the abyss due to closed publications. My old articles go back to “The Mission,” “PS I Love You,” and “The Ascent,” but they are still relevant today.
2. I, too, am weary of the “how to succeed on Medium” articles in my feed. On occasion, I do click on them, because I like to stay updated on the changes and new ways to approach Medium. However, can they all be required to publish under one publication so they’re not the only thing in my feed?
3. I loved the publication-driven format from the past. I always felt privileged to be a part of the unique pubs, where the quality was monitored. I felt proud to say I was a writer for “The Mission,” and the other pubs that included me. It encouraged me to write more, and my work improved because of the pub interaction and guidance.

Thank you for the opportunity to share our thoughts, and I look forward to your vision for Medium as it unfolds!
