Katharine, thank you. It’s quite a poignant and timely article for me. My husband has prostate cancer and unfortunately it spread before it was caught, so it is metastatic. We’ve been dealing with it for 6 years, but miraculously he is still alive (doctors said he only had 3-5 years,.. wrong) and we have a wonderful quality of life. You’re so right to get that simple blood test every year. There have been new treatments and new protocols for him to try every year. As you said, it’s learning to live with the diagnosis and the aftermath that is the hardest. I hope women will read this article and urge their partners to get tested! Thank you for writing it.
